Rumour London Guestlist: Who It Covers and What It Costs

Last updated: 5 October 2026
The Rumour guestlist works differently from most of the Mayfair lists we run, and the difference matters enough to explain properly rather than let people discover it at the door. Here is exactly who it covers, what it costs, and what the alternative is if it does not apply to you.
The Guestlist Is for Ladies
Straightforwardly: Rumour's guestlist is for ladies. Gentlemen are not on it. That is the venue's policy, not ours, and no amount of asking changes it on the night.
I lead with this because it is the single most common way a Mayfair night goes wrong. A mixed group turns up assuming everyone is covered, half of them are, and the evening starts with a negotiation on the pavement that was never going to succeed. Knowing in advance costs you nothing; finding out at 11:30pm costs you the night.
What It Costs
Guestlist entry for ladies runs from free up to around £20, depending on how busy the night is.
Quieter midweek nights are typically complimentary. A full Saturday sits at the upper end. We will tell you where a specific date is likely to land when you ask — promising free entry and letting you find out otherwise at the door helps nobody.
If You Are a Mixed Group or a Group of Men
A table is the route in, with minimum spends from £1,000. That covers a private table, bottle service, a host looking after the group, and priority entry for everyone with you.
For a group of eight to ten that is a reasonable figure per head, and it removes the uncertainty entirely — you are expected, your table is held, and nobody is standing outside explaining themselves. In a 200-capacity room on a Saturday, that certainty is worth more than it sounds.
Timing Matters More Here
Rumour holds around 200 people. A room that size reaches capacity considerably earlier than the larger Mayfair clubs, and once it is full, guestlist entry closes regardless of whether your name is down.
Doors are 11pm. For guestlist entry on a weekend I would be there between 11pm and midnight. On a quieter midweek night you have more latitude, but the principle holds: the smaller the room, the more arrival time decides whether a list is any use to you.
Dress Code and Age
Heels for ladies, and smart, dressed-up attire throughout. Rumour runs a selective Mayfair door and the code is enforced — this is not a venue where trainers get a pass because the list has your name on it.
Entry is strictly 18+ and photographic ID is checked. Bring something valid rather than a photo of it on your phone.
How to Get On It
Send us the date, the names in your group and how many of you there are. We will put the request in and come back to you with what the night looks like.
Be accurate about numbers. Lists are submitted with names, and arriving with more people than declared is the other classic way a group gets split at the door. If the number changes, tell us and we will update it rather than letting you find out the hard way.
Why Venues Run Ladies' Guestlists
It is worth explaining rather than leaving it as an arbitrary rule. A guestlist is a tool for shaping the room, not a discount scheme. Venues use it to influence who is inside early and how the balance of the room sits through the night, and in a space holding 200 people that balance is far more visible than it would be in a club four times the size.
Whether you think that is reasonable is a separate question, and plenty of people have views. What I can tell you is that it is the policy here, it is applied consistently, and planning around it produces a better night than arguing with it on the pavement.
If the List Has Closed
On busy nights it does. When that happens the options are a table if any remain, or a different venue for that date. We will tell you straight away which of those is actually available rather than leaving you hoping something opens up.
What does not work is turning up on spec. In a 200-capacity room at midnight on a Saturday there is no negotiation to be had, because there is physically no space to negotiate with.
Groups, Numbers and the Door
Door teams everywhere read group composition, and a small venue reads it more closely. A balanced group moves through quickly. A large group arriving as one block late on a weekend gets more scrutiny, which is true at every selective London door rather than anything specific to Rumour.
The practical workarounds are simple: arrive earlier rather than later, come in smaller clusters rather than one wave, and if the group is large enough that any of this is a worry, book a table and remove the question entirely.
