The 7 Best Clubs in Central London

Updated: Nov 20, 2023

The best clubs in central London, a topic that frustrates most travellers. Especially when you’ve only got one Saturday night out in London in your itinerary and you want to make the most of it. What’s worse than getting dressed up or booking a VIP table only to discover that it’s at a dead party, right?

Given our years of experience as London club promoters, we like to think that we know the scene pretty well. This article is all about the best clubs in central London and how you can make the most out of the city’s nightlife.

1. Tape London

Located in Mayfair, Tape London is undoubtedly one of the best clubs in central London and here are three reasons why: celebrity guests on a monthly basis, elegant parties, and a sophisticated crowd.

Having been in the Mayfair nightlife scene for over seven years, Tape nightclub knows how to throw a party and make their guests feel special. Fast-tracked entry for table clients, a highly experienced staff, and let’s not forget about Tape’s raunchy dance crew, the Tape Girls, and their resident Cannes-certified MC.

When it comes to music, Tape plays hip-hop, R&B and some Afrobeats. Although, if you order one of the club’s extravagant bottle shows you can make a request for a song.

The cherry on top, Tape hosts after-parties on Fridays and Saturdays from 3:30 AM until late in Little Tape, the club’s own members’ area. While there’s a door connecting it to the main club, the vibes are completely different in the high-tech, highly immersive Little Tape.

To get in, you can join the Tape club guestlist which is reserved for ladies. If you’re a group of guys or a mixed group, you can book a table with a minimum spend. Let us know what you’re most interested in, and we’ll arrange it for you at no cost of course.

2. The Box Soho

The Box is located in Soho and is often a top choice for those coming in from New York City where the club’s original location is constantly creating a buzz.

Unlike your average club night, The Box Soho packs a whole experience: shows, secret rooms, an inner circle, a no-photos policy and more - exactly what you’d expect from one of London’s raunchiest and most mysterious clubs.

Hosted by the powerhouse Kimberly Nichole, once a contestant on The Voice U.S., a night at The Box means watching two-to-three acts that range from thrilling to wildly erotic.

Not just that, but between the shows, you get to mingle with some of the city’s hottest socialites and dance the night away under the hottest house, hip-hop, and mainstream hits.

Of course, there’s more than one way to party there. You can go with the mainstream option, or you can book one of The Box Soho’s secret rooms for a more exotic and intimate experience.

The Box doesn’t run a guestlist, so there are two ways to get in. The easiest way is to book a table with a minimum spend. However, if you happen to know one of the club’s members, you can come as their guest.

3. Tabu

Tabu in Mayfair is one of the newer clubs in the central London nightlife scene. Nevertheless, they made a strong impression from the jump with their unique theme and superior parties.

The upstairs floor, Yuki by Tabu, is where you can enjoy house music, pre-clubbing cocktails, and socialising with London’s young sophisticated elite and social media influencers. The downstairs floor, Tabu, is where the party really picks up speed.

Tabu London club blends Japanese pop culture with the Shinjuku underground scene, packs it in Mayfair elegance, and brings it all right to Dover St. Between the rugged dark alley look and the glaring LED signs, it’s the perfect sensory experience.

Tabu is known for playing hip-hop bangers and for being one of the best clubs in central London to take pictures in. Whether it’s in the ladies’ powder room or on the stairs covered in LED signage. Not to mention, every bottle show is a rush when the Tabu staff brings out their sparklers and huge ‘Space Invaders’ and ‘Pac-Man’ props.

Last but not least, Tabu’s dazzling go-go dancers always keep things spicy with their creative outfit choices.

Same as Tape and most high-end clubs in London, Tabu runs a guestlist reserved for ladies only. You can also opt for bottle service if you’re a mixed group or a group of guys. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like more information about Tabu table bookings or guestlist.

4. The London Reign

Located in Mayfair, The London Reign is considered one of the first high-end show clubs in the city. The combination of extravagant shows, unforgettable parties, and the occasional celebrity definitely puts Reign high on the list of the best clubs in Central London.

At London Reign, you can expect aerialists flying over the dancefloor, thrilling fire performers, go-go dancers, and more. After all, the club prides itself on extravagance, opulence, and glamour. Think huge jellyfish tanks and Hollywood's golden era.

In addition, the club puts on some of the best light shows in the scene which ties together the whole experience.

To get into London Reign, there’s the guestlist option for girls and the table booking option for guys and mixed groups. Of course, it’s always better to book ahead especially if you’re planning a Saturday night out in London because Saturdays are often the busiest nights.

5. Cirque Le Soir

Located in Soho, Cirque Le Soir - like Tape - is one of the more established clubs and brands in the scene. Not only do they know how to throw a good party, but they’ve also developed their dark fun fair aesthetic to an impressive point. It’s an immersive experience from start to finish.

As you walk in, you’ll pass by all sorts of fun fair stands and props to get you in the right mood for Cirque’s wild, exotic, and quite erotic parties. Plus, they make sure to give their clients more than one picturesque spot for an impromptu photoshoot.

While dancing the night away to their resident DJs’ hip-hop mixes, you’ll find snake charmers walking by; creepy clowns, and fire performers too. That’s not including their shows and attention-grabbing and energetic bottle shows.

Like the other clubs in Central London, Cirque nightclub is hard to get into, so it’s best to contact a promoter about the Cirque guestlist or bottle service.

6. The Windmill Soho

The Windmill Soho is an all-in-one stop for your entertainment needs: from brunch until late. You’ve got bottomless brunch, lunch, and dinner accompanied by shows throughout the day. When the clock strikes midnight, however, that’s when the real party starts.

At midnight, the dining room turns into The Windmill nightclub and the party goes on until late. That’s 2 floors of psyched-up elegant crowds dancing until dawn under aerialists, throbbing lasers, and thumping speakers.

In addition, Windmill also operates an underground members-only speakeasy by the name of Henderson's from 2:00 AM and until 6:00 AM. It’s a perfect spot to step out of the main party and into a more intimate experience should the night take you there.

For the Windmill nightclub, you can either join the guestlist if you’re a group of ladies or book a private table if you’re a group of guys or a mixed group. For Henderson’s, since the speakeasy is more exclusive, you need to book a table to get in.

7. Libertine

Located in Fitzrovia, Libertine club is famous for its energetic atmosphere and wild crowd. The club has hosted their fair share of hip-hop and R&B artists as well.

The club’s core beliefs are all about indulgence and freedom which means a wild mix between high-end champagne, bubble makers, and steamy go-go dancer performances.

‘Libs’ as the regulars call it, also houses a molecular cocktail lounge which presents quite an interesting experience, especially if you’re the daring type.

Like most of the clubs mentioned above, you can get into Libertine by booking a table or joining the Libertine guestlist.

For a certified fun nightlife experience, these are the best clubs in central London. As you’ve probably noticed, most are located in the trendy Mayfair/Soho areas and that’s where you want to go for the best time.
